FAQ

Is it just you or do you work with an assistant or a second photographer?

This is entirely up to you.  You have the option of just hiring me or adding a second photographer. For all but the smallest weddings, I recommend bringing along my wonderful assistant who also photographs when she’s not helping me out by setting up lights, carrying my gear, etc. She usually starts shortly before the ceremony to photograph the groom and his family and stays with me through the main reception events. She’ll provide an alternate angle during the key parts of the day.

How many photos do we end up with?

A whole bunch! I typically take thousands of images, and there is no limit to the number of images that you will receive, however it’s usually in the 700-850 range, depending on the length of the day. I include everything great, and I edit out any misfires, out of focus images, and images with poor lighting or bad expressions.

We can’t wait… When can we view our images?

I know that you are anxious to see your images. I take pride in processing each and every photo.  My turnaround for image delivery following the wedding is typically four to six weeks; however I will post some “Teaser” photos on my blog. And, if you’re a fan of my Facebook page, I will post a couple of “Sneak Peeks” on Facebook within seven days of your wedding.

What type of equipment do you use and do you have backup?

I shoot professional Canon digital SLR camera bodies, speedlights, and L-Series prime and zoom lenses (These are Canon’s finest professional lenses).  I always have at least two cameras with me and multiple lenses ranging from 15mm to 200mm.

What happens if you are sick?

It has never happened that I have missed a wedding, but if I’m in the hospital I have a network of professional colleagues whom I can call on to fill in for me.

Do you include the digital negatives?

Yes and no. All collections include a disk or flash drive of the final high-resolution, fully-edited, print-ready files, along with full usage rights from me, allowing you to print or post your images anywhere and at any size. I believe that it’s important for you to have an archive of all of the edited images from your wedding. However, I do not provide the RAW files, the uncorrected digital “negatives”. Nor do I give you every single photograph taken; I first edit out any poor images.

Are the pictures on the disc edited?

I edit each and every photo for color, exposure, and contrast. Some images are converted into black and white or sepia. Extra edits may be applied for album & print orders upon request.

Do you offer any special packages for out of the season or intimate weddings?

I love photographing intimate celebrations! If you’re planning a smaller wedding that takes place mid-week, or in the quieter season (November through March), I am sometimes able to offer a discount on my regular wedding packages prices.

We’d love to work with you; what happens next?

I’d love to meet with you both and get to know you! I also like to show you some sample albums, and answer any other questions you may have. Please contact me using the “contact me” link, or give me a call at (774) 991-3327. Let me know a few times that work for you to meet (meetings typically take place on weekday evenings). If you decide to hire me to photograph your wedding, a $300 retainer, and a signed contract, will reserve your date.
